Lending Compliance as of 1st January 2021

In order to process Loan applications the following documentation is mandatory in meeting the Credit Unions regulatory obligations.

  • Running of a Central Credit Register report for loans applications grossing €500 or more.
  • The CJA 2010 requires the Credit Union to have in-date Photographic Identification (Ex. Garda Age Card) and Proof of Address documentation dated within the previous 3 months.(Ex. Tara & District Credit Union Statement) on file.
  • Verification of your PPSN number (Ex. Public Services Card) on file
  • Current Personal Bank Statements for the previous 3 months
  • Income Certification - Payslips, Pension/Social Welfare slips, etc.
  • Current Mortgage Statement from Lender
  • Self-employed to provide current yearly accounts from their Accountants.
  • Other additional information/documentation may be required in order to process loan application
  • If you have an existing loan it must be arrears free

Loans seeking approval, are subject to our lending criteria, (Terms & Conditions apply)

Should any borrowing member find themselves in difficulty due to some unforeseen circumstances you should immediately contact the Credit Control Officer or Manager. Arrangements can be made to avoid the account going into arrears and protect your good credit record. This is very important as arrears on an existing loan can cause problems if a member applies for further loans. Members in difficulty will be treated sympathetically but the onus rests with member to make early contact with Tara & District Credit Union Limited. These Loans are other members savings, we as a Credit Union have at all times an obligation to protect members savings, and ensure they get rewards for saving with us.

Members of Tara & District Credit Union can apply for a loan by completing a loan application form online or by calling into our office.

  • 3 months of most recent bank statements
  • Last 3 payslips
Self Employed
  • Most recent audited set of accounts
  • Tax clearance certificate
  • Form 11
  • Last 3 months bank statements - Personal and business (if applicable)
Unemployed
  • 3 most recent bank statements for all accounts
  • 3 recent collection receipts or if payment is made directly to your bank account, bank statements are sufficient.
Other documents we may request
  • Green Loan - Estimates of work, invoices or proof of car being purchased.
  • Student Loans - Proof of attendance
  • Revolut statements
  • If we do not already have the following on file, we will request them at loan application stage.

Passport or Drivers license (in date)

Proof of your current address(utility bill, bank statement) dated within six months of the loan application.
