3 Steps to opening accounts

To become a member of Tara & District Credit Union, you need to hold our common bond. That is, you need to be living or working within our common bond. See our map below or call our office to check if you hold our common bond. We require a minimum of €10 to be lodged on the day of the account opening.

As part of the joining process, we require the following documentation.

  • Photo I.D: A valid passport/passport card or drivers’ licence

  • Proof of Address: A utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 6 months. (Please Note a Tv Licence Letter is not acceptable)

  • Proof of PPSN: Revenue letter, wage slip, European health card. (Please note the Public Service Card is not acceptable)

We require you to come into the branch to sign the required paperwork such as the membership application form and nomination form (if applicable)

Minimum Lodgement

Minimum Lodgement

We require a minimum lodgement of €10 to be lodged on the day of opening the account.

Juvenile Accounts

Please Note Any Children From the age of 7 Must be Present With Their Parent or Guardian When Opening The Account.

Documents required for juvenile accounts 

  • Photo I.D:  Birth Certificate or Passport for the minor
  • Photo I.D: A valid passport/passport card, drivers’ licence (from the parent/guardian opening the account) 
  • Proof of Address: A utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 6 months in the parents’ name. 
  • Proof of PPSN: Official Evidence of Minor PPS Number such as Letter received once a child is born or European health card.

Both parents/ guardians need to be present at the opening of the account if both wish to be authorised on the account (up to the child’s 7th birthday).(Please note parents can only withdraw up to the age of 7. Once the child turns 7 both the parent and child need to be present for withdrawals) Once the member turns 16, the account is deemed to be an adult account.

Please note we can no longer accept the Public Services Card as proof of Identification or PPS Number.
